Two pumps that use the same directions to install a 900 series meter on
If you have a Fill-Rite 900 Series Mechanical Meter, you need to install it, right? In this post we're going to cover how to install this meter on FR700 and FR300 meter pumps, but we need to lay down some background info first.
The steps listed numerically below are taken from the video linked above. The video shows the meter being installed on a FR700 pump. Installing on a FR300 pump uses the same process. You will need to purchase the following item to complete installation:
- KIT900PF - Meter Flange Kit for 900 series meters on FR700 or FR300 Series pumps
Also, be sure check the back of the pump and find the arrow to signify flow direction. Based on your system, the ports can be rotated to match your system of flow. Like the video linked above, we will be basing these instructions on a left to right flow.
Let's get started on the assembly instructions:
- Remove both port plugs from the meter
- Remove the attached inlet flange from the meter
- Ensure the o-ring is seated correctly around the meter's inlet port. If necessary, replace it with the new o-ring supplied in the kit
- Remove the outlet flange attached to the pump by removing the fasteners
- Ensure the o-ring around the outlet of the pump is seated properly. Again, if necessary, replace it with the new o-ring supplied in this kit
- Attach the meter flange from the flange kit to the pump with the two provided fasteners
- Attach the meter to the flange with the four provided fasteners. It is recommended to install the fasteners in a diagonal order to make sure the meter sits properly on the flange
