How To Install A Fill-Rite FR100 Series Rotary Hand Pump

Whether you are using a pail spout or no spout at all, we'll go over how to properly install your FR100 series pump

Let's get hands on with installing this FR100 Series Rotary Hand Pump. If you have a FR112 or FR113 Rotary Hand Pumps, make sure you see the extra steps listed for you below

Directions for all FR100 series pumps:

  1. Use a tape measure to measure the depth of your tank to determine if you need to alter your pipe. The provided suction pipe for this pump is designed for use on depths between 20" and 34-1/2". If the pipe is too short, you'll need to use a different pipe. It is recommended that you use a 1" NPT black iron pipe. If the pipe is too long or if you are using a pipe not provided in the kit, cut the pipe 1" to 2" short of the bottom of the tank at a 45° angle
  2. Apply thread sealant to the pipe
  3. Apply thread sealant to the pump's inlet bung
  4. Thread the pipe into the inlet bung until it is hand tight and use a pipe wrench to go 1.5 to 3 turns past that point
  5. Thread the pump and attached pipe into the tank. Turn until it is hand tight, the use a wrench to secure in place

If your pump has a discharge hose and nozzle spout (like FR112), follow these extra steps.

  1. Apply thread sealant to both ends of the discharge hose
  2. Thread one end of the hose into the discharge opening and use a wrench to secure in place
  3. Thread the nozzle spout to the other end of the hose. When not in use, you can store the spout in the open reservoir opposite to where you threaded in the hose

If your pump has a discharge hose and pail spout (like FR113), follow these extra steps.

  1. Use a 5/8" wrench to remove the port plug from the top of the pump and install it securely into the side port.
  2. Apply thread sealant to both ends of the provided pipe nipple
  3. Thread the pipe nipple into the pail spout
  4. Install the pail spout assembly into the top of the pump. Turn it until it is hand tight then secure by tightening with a wrench
