Install your FR700 Series fuel pump in 10 steps.
Looking to install a FR700 Series pump onto your mobile fuel transfer tank? Here's a walkthrough on how to do that.
- Measure the depth of your tank to figure out how long the suction pipe needs to be. If you need to buy an alternate pipe, it's recommended to buy a 1-1/4" NPT black iron pipe. Cut the pipe 1" to 2" short of the bottom at a 45° angle to allow for the best flow into the pipe
- Once the pipe is cut, apply thread sealant to the pipe's threads
- Attach the bung adapter to the pipe. The bung adapter needs to say "PUMP SIDE" on the side opposite of the pipe. Thread the bung until it is handtight, then use a wrench to tighten it 1 to 3 turns more
- Apply thread sealant on the lower half of the bung adapter
- Install the suction pipe and bung adapter into the tank. Use a pipe wrench to tighten
- Remove the port plug from the bottom of the pump
- Apply thread sealant to the top of the bung adapter
- Thread the pump onto the bung adapter. The pump is 40 lbs., so you may need another person to help with this step
- Attach the nozzle boot by removing the bolt and eyelet from the pump, then align the bottom most hole of the boot with the boss on the end bell. Secure the boot in place with the bolt
- Make sure the pump is wired by a licensed electrician
