If you've got a GPI M-Series Fuel Transfer Pump, here's how you can install a fuel filter kit onto it
Here's 11 steps to install a GPI M-Series Fuel Transfer Pump and GPI Filter Kit onto your tank. If you already have the pump with the nozzle holder in place, start at step 6.
Installing a GPI Filter Kit on M-Series Fuel Transfer Pump
- Add thread tape to all threaded parts of the pump, hoses, suction pipes and adapters.
- If your pump needs a bung adapter to mount on the tank, thread the bung adapter into the tank and tighten in place. If the pump does not need a bung adapter, skip this step.
- Install the gasket and suction pipe on the pump.
- Extend the suction pipe to its full length.
- If you need the bung adapter, install the pump on the bung adapter and tighten the spin collar in place. If you have a direct mount M-150 pump, thread it into place onto the tank tightly.
- Install the 3/4" pipe nipple to the pump outlet port
- Attach the inlet port on the fuel filter adapter to the pipe nipple
- Attach the fuel filter to the fuel filter adapter
- Thread the hose to the outlet port of the fuel filter adapter. Tighten in place
- If you are using an automatic unleaded nozzle with an M180 fuel pump, install the included 1" to 3/4" reducer onto your hose. If you are not using an M180 fuel pump, skip this step.
- Attach your nozzle to the hose
