How To Install A GPI M-Series Fuel Transfer Pump

Whether you have a bung mount or direct thread GPI M-Series Fuel Pump, this walkthrough has you covered on installation.

If you are installing a GPI M-Series Fuel Transfer Pump onto a tank, here's how you can do it in eight steps (or less!).

Installing an M-Series Fuel Transfer Pump

  1. Add thread tape to all threaded parts of the pump, hoses, suction pipes and adapters.
  2. If your pump needs a bung adapter to mount on the tank, thread the bung adapter into the tank and tighten in place. If the pump does not need a bung adapter (like a M150 pump), skip this step.
  3. Install the gasket and suction pipe on the pump.
  4. Extend the suction pipe to its full length.
  5. If you need the bung adapter, install the pump on the bung adapter and tighten the spin collar to secure the pump in place. If you have a direct mount M150 pump, thread it into place onto the tank tightly.
  6. Thread the hose to the outlet port of the fuel filter adapter. Tighten in place to avoid leaks
  7. If you are using an automatic unleaded nozzle with an M180 fuel pump, install the included 1" to 3/4" reducer onto your hose. If you are not using an M180 fuel pump, skip this step.
  8. Attach your nozzle to the hose
