# How to install FR900 Mechanical Meter Full Rebuild Kit

## Install FR900 Mechanical Meter Full Rebuild Kit in 31 steps.

### Directions to Install FR900 Mechanical Meter Full Rebuild Kit 

**Disassembling Meter**

1. Slide off reset knob
2. Remove (2) fasteners and bracket from front of meter
3. Remove (2) fasteners and faceplate
4. Remove (2) fasteners and remove register
5. Flip meter over, remove (8) fasteners from meter housing
6. Remove gasket
7. Remove (4) fastener and chamber assembly
8. Remove (2) fasteners and gear frame
9. Remove cluster gear assembly
10. Remove drive gear assembly
11. Remove driver pinion assembly

**Assembling Gears**

1. Install the pinion washer, driver, and secure with retaining ring
2. Place drive gear o-ring in indentation
3. Place washer on long side of drive gear shaft
4. Install drive gear into meter
5. Install pinion bevel on other side of drive shaft to secure in place
6. Place washer onto drive shaft
7. Install cluster gear shaft into meter
8. Install cluster gear and washer onto shaft
9. Place new gasket onto meter cover

Installing Gear Frame and Chamber Assembly

1. Install new gear frame and secure with (2) fasteners
2. Install new chamber assembly with opening facing meter inlet
3. Secure in place with (4) fasteners

**Reassembly of the Meter**

1. Place meter housing onto meter cover
2. Secure (8) fasteners, tighten to at least 100 in-lb
3. Flip meter housing and cover over
4. Align register mounting tabs with holes on meter cover, secure with (2) fasteners
5. Place faceplate onto register, secure with (2) fasteners
6. Slide reset knob back onto reset shaft

**Replacing Flange Gaskets**

1. Remove flanges, discard old gaskets
2. Place new gaskets in indentations, reinstall flanges
