How to Install Rotary Hand Pump Series Rebuild Kit

Rebuild Kit in 26 steps.

 

WARNING: Relieve pump pressure and disconnect power before starting

Directions to Install Rotary Hand Pump Series Rebuild Kit

Disassembling Pump Cover

  1. Loosen and remove nut from shaft
  2. Remove washer and handle
  3. Use a T25 drive to remove 2 fasteners
  4. Use a socket wrench to loosen 8 fasteners
  5. Remove fasteners and pump covers

Disassembling and Replacing Shaft Seal

  1. Pull shaft out through opening, remove 2-piece shaft seal
  2. Place black seal then place white seal in indentation
  3. Slide shaft back through pump cover
  4. Reinstall the bearing plate cover, secure with 2 fasteners
    1. Tighten to 32 in-lb

Removing Vanes and Gasket

WARNING: Pieces of the rotor assembly are spring-loaded, wear safety glasses when working on pump body

  1. Remove 3 vane assemblies
  2. Remove pump cover gasket

Replacing Vanes and Gasket

  1. Replace gasket, ensure it is properly seated
  2. Insert 1 pin into 1 spring
  3. Insert pin and spring into opening in the vane
  4. Compress pin and spring towards vane
  5. Insert compressed pieces into rotor opening with pin facing center
  6. Repeat with remaining vane assemblies
  7. Align pump cover and shaft with rotor
  8. Use socket wrench to tighten fasteners to 45 in-lb
  9. Place crank on shaft, secure with washer and fastener

Disassembling Inlet Screen and Gasket

  1. Remove pump from bung adapter
  2. Use 7/16" wrench to loosen fasteners
  3. Remove gasket and screen from bung adapter, wipe away any remaining debris
  4. Seat screen in indentation
  5. Place gasket on bung adapter
  6. Mount pump on bung adapter, secure with fasteners
