How to Replace Gears On A GPI EZ-8 Pump
Need to replace the gears in your GPI EZ-8 pump? Here's how you do it quickly and efficiently.
Replace the gears on a GPI EZ-8 Fuel Transfer Pump with little trouble using the guide in the video above or the steps listed out below. Remember to wear properly fitting PPE when doing this task!
- Turn off the pump and disconnect from power
- Remove the cover plate using a 7/16" hex wrench
- Remove the gears from the pump cavity
- Inspect each gear (part numbers: 13750003, 137500-13) for wear and damage
- Remove the o-ring from the cover plate and inspect for wear and damage
- Reinstall the gears and make sure they turn freely
- Re-insert the o-ring securely into its grooves on the cover plate
- Reinstall the cover plate while making sure the o-ring is seated securely before tightening
