How to winterize your mini bulk pump

Winterize your mini bulk pumps in four easy steps.

As the weather gets colder, its time to start thinking about winterizing your pumps. Clean your mini bulk pumps using the procedure shown in the video above. You can also see the same instructions listed below.

Following cleanout, store the pump filled or coated with antifreeze. Prolonged exposure to water pesticide will cause irreparable damage. Repair cost may exceed pump replacement cost if stored improperly. Subsequent failures will not be given warranty consideration if the unit malfunctions due to misuse or improper storage.

Note for mini-bulk tanks: Proper cleaning and storage are essential for the continued function of the mini-bulk tanks. Do not leave water or pesticide in the pump.

Perform these simple steps to winterize your pump kits:

  • Disconnect the pumps from the product containers. Connect a clean source (preferably water) to the suction side of the pumps
  • Flush the pumps with water and let them run until the desired output clarity is reached
  • Properly collect all rinse material and properly dispose of all collected material per the product manufacturer's instructions
  • After flushing has been completed, repeat the flushing instructions using a 50/50 RV antifreeze/water mix. Allowing the 50/50 mixture to remain in the pumps over winter is acceptable
