[Repairs & Maintenance](https://support.farmchem.com/knowledge-base/helpful-videos?hsLang=en#repairs-maintenance) # Replacing The Shaft Seal In A Fill-Rite Pump (FR Series, SD Series) using a Fill-Rite Shaft Seal Kit ## Get this done easily in just 8 steps. Swap out the shaft seal in a FR series or SD series Fill-Rite pump with a FIll-Rite Shaft Seal Kit (KIT120SL) using this short video/walkthrough. *Please remember to wear PPE while doing this.* **Note:** this kit usable for FR1200, FR2400, FR4200, FR4400, FR600, SD1200 and SD600 series Fill-Rite pumps. **WARNING:** Before working on the pump, relieve the pump pressure and disconnect it from power. 1. Remove the rotor assembly, which consists of the cover, rotor key, rotor and vanes. Keep all of these pieces as you will reuse them to rebuild the rotor 2. Remove the shaft seal assembly using snap ring pliers to remove the snap ring, then use pliers or hooks to remove the other pieces. There should be eight pieces to this in total. NOTE: You may need to push pressurized air through the weep hole to get all the pieces out 3. Grab the new shaft seal kit and start the reassembly process by putting the pieces on the shaft in this order: large o-ring, black carbon ring, stainless steel mating ring, small o-ring, washer, spring, then washer. Push them back as far as you can on the shaft before starting the next step. NOTE: It may be necessary to use a deep impact socket 4. Install the snap ring on the shaft using snap ring pliers, and push it back until it sits in the indentation 5. Now slide the rotor onto the motor shaft. Make sure it is aligned and insert the rotor key 6. Install the vanes with all of them facing the same direction 7. Seat the rotor cover gasket properly 8.
